Guruvanam

The Malveeran Temple

Bhagwan had asked the tribals to build this temple for the forest diety Malveeran, after the poor tribals had complained of being troubled for animal sacrifice by the deity. Bhagwan ordered animal sacrifice to be completely stopped and asked the villagers to instead offer their first harvest to the deity after giving him a place. This was the given place where worship is also given to him. The villagers were freed of their troubles after this. The temple is duly given its worship even today after the arati of the main temple here in Guruvanam.

The Ashtasiddhi Linga

The Ashtasiddhi linga symbolizes the 8 dormant powers hidden in every human. Bhagwan never encouraged chasing Siddhis, but these were the miraculous powers that are naturally revealed as the purification of the human consciousness happens.

Ashtasiddhi Linga temple is in Guruvan. The Ashta Siddhis mean the great 8 supernatural powers that come naturally to an enlightened being but that which is also sought and achieved by many Kundalini practitioners.Bhagwan had built these 8 stone lingas to symbolize the siddhis that were achieved by the great Siddhas who once lived here before taking their samadhis here. The gesture towards these Ashtasiddhi lingas is symbolic – being constructed outside the cave, which symbolically points and hints seekers on the true path must not entertain these powers, which can become the obstacle to further journey of the seeker towards liberation. This is specifically why the 8 stone lingas denoting these powers are constructed outside the holy cave, meaning one’s attention should be within than outside where all the lures of worldly and spiritual gains lie waiting to distract the seeker on the path. A beautiful temple has been created around these stone lingas to preserve it.
